Mercy's cry

Mercy is fourteen years old, she stays in a small village called Oculoi in Eastern Uganda. She lives with her four little siblings both their parents died of Aids. Mercy being the eldest, is left to fend for the younger ones, she has to nurse them feed them and cloth them. It's so sad that at such atender age this young girl has to have all this responsibility. None of them goes to school but they are lucky and blessed that apiece of land was given to them by their grandmother before she died. Mercy needs any kind of support to economically empower her...

What is there today?

A new day comes and these poor women are awakened to the same kind of life style that they have found themselves in, when you ask them what they can do to better their lives, most have no answers, their faces are covered with frustration where to get the next meal to feed their children, most cases these children are malnourished, they are sick and will probably either have one meal for the day or stay hungry if their mothers don't get them something to eat. This is the suffering of a single mother deep down in the rural villages, whose husbands ran away, some died due to unavoidable circumstances...who will help them out? How can they be empowered to economically sustain them selves? This is a silent cry and I believe we can turn around these women's lives, they can be empowered to economically sustain themselves, activities like baking, weaving or any other activity can be taught to them...let's make a change in their lives

This is a story of the silent pains, tears and cries of some of our own. I will be sharing with you different journeys of different individuals as we all strive to walk through life.
